Transport Logistics of an Enterprise

The study program Transport Logistics of the Enterprise provides graduates with a broad professional profile and comprehensive, high-quality knowledge necessary for functioning in a multicultural environment. It prepares them to successfully manage the basic logistics chain of an enterprise — that is, the logistics chain consisting of purchasing, supply, production, sales, storage, and distribution processes — with a particular focus on operational planning and decision-making, record-keeping, quality control, systems assurance, and the operation of this logistics chain at lower levels of enterprise management. Graduates have opportunities to work as qualified managerial staff in many functional departments of enterprise management or as independent specialists in specialized company units, particularly in positions within the enterprise’s transport logistics department. They may work in dispatching, operations, maintenance, and operational/dispatch control, for example as operators of large production machines and manufacturing lines, planners, or operational logisticians.

Surveying and Real Estate Cadastre

The study program Geodesy and Real Estate Cadastre is accredited in the study field Geodesy and Cartography. This field educates specialists needed to fulfil the tasks of the state, as well as those of the geodesy, cartography, and cadastre sector, construction industry, and various industrial branches. Graduates obtain a complete first-cycle university education by completing subjects that form the theoretical, professional, and technical-application foundations of the program. The theoretical foundation is built through studies in natural sciences — mathematics, physics, and geology — followed by theoretical professional disciplines such as geodesy, mathematical geodesy, measurement processing and analysis, and physical geodesy. The core of the program lies in mastering technically and application-oriented subjects, including local geodetic networks, engineering geodesy, photogrammetry, geoinformatics, geographic information systems, topography, land consolidation, cadastral mapping, and real estate cadastre. First-cycle students are expected to acquire essential knowledge in the areas of geodesy, cartography, and real estate cadastre.

Geology and regional development

The Bachelor’s study program Geology and Regional Development provides fundamental knowledge in the field of mining geology and geological exploration. The main emphasis is placed on acquiring the ability to independently manage geological–mining activities, to carry out documentation of geological exploration and mining operations, as well as to collaborate with managers and specialists from other professions. Graduates of the study field Mining Geology and Geological Exploration (Bachelor’s level, program Geology and Regional Development) should be able to analyze fundamental problems of mining geology and geological exploration, independently manage and document geological exploration and mining-operational activities, and work in cooperation with managers and experts from other disciplines. They possess appropriate knowledge in entrepreneurship, organization, and management of mining–geological and geological exploration work.

Geotourism

The Geotourism study program provides graduates with a specialized professional profile and comprehensive, high-quality knowledge necessary for mastering a multidisciplinary approach. It prepares them to successfully support the effective development of geotourism — that is, the identification, characterization, evaluation, interpretation, presentation, and promotion of geological and related cultural-historical heritage for the purpose of sustainable tourism development. Graduates can find employment as qualified managerial staff in various functional departments within the public or private sector, or work as specialists in dedicated units (either independently or as part of a broader team).

Commercial Logistics

The Commercial Logistics study program provides graduates with a broad professional profile and comprehensive, high-quality knowledge necessary for functioning in a multicultural environment. It prepares them to successfully manage the basic logistics chain of an enterprise — that is, the logistics chain formed by the processes of purchasing, supply, production, sales, storage, and distribution — with a particular focus on operational planning and decision-making, record-keeping, quality control, system assurance, and operation of this logistics chain at the lower levels of enterprise management. Graduates can find employment as qualified managerial staff in many functional departments of enterprise management, or work as independent specialists in specialized company units. They are particularly prepared for positions in purchasing logistics, sales logistics, distribution logistics, outbound logistics, and for roles such as specialists in planning, strategy, and forecasting in commercial logistics.

Management of processes

The Bachelor’s study program Process Management focuses on education in the analysis of technological equipment and processes, the analysis, design, and implementation of control systems, information technologies, and the design of technical and software tools and their application in the field of raw material processing. Graduates possess appropriate-level knowledge in measurement, modeling, control, and optimization of technological processes, as well as in process quality management and system reliability. They are capable of managing the operation of technological units and equipment, including environmentally oriented systems. They are also able to navigate the field of quality control and management of processes, materials, and products.

Management of Earth Sources

The Earth Resources Management study program provides graduates with a broad professional profile and comprehensive, high-quality knowledge necessary for functioning in a multicultural environment. It prepares them to successfully manage an enterprise from the perspective of economics, statistical data processing, production organization and management, quality management, financial analysis, and project management. Graduates can find employment as qualified managerial staff at lower levels of enterprise management or work as independent specialists in specialized company departments, particularly in the areas of economics, accounting and finance, environmental management, or project management. The cross-sectoral nature of Earth Resources Management, together with current trends in the global economy — the rise of large corporations, corporate networks, and the resulting large-scale movement of goods at the meta (global), macro (inter-company), and micro (intra-company) levels — highlights the need for and applicability of graduates in real economic practice and on the labor market in Slovakia and across Europe. This is a transparent study program focused on managing all aspects of an enterprise within the broader context of business and management.

Environmental Protection and Ecotechnologies of Raw Materials

A graduate of the Bachelor’s study program Environmental Protection and Raw Material Ecotechnologies has general knowledge in technical and natural sciences, as well as in the application of environmental, economic, legal, and social principles. They understand the fundamental principles of technologies for the treatment and processing of primary and secondary raw materials. They are able to correctly interpret these technologies (developed and applied for primary raw material processing) and apply them as environmental technologies—for example, in water and air treatment, and in the processing or recycling of waste, i.e., secondary raw materials, whose quantities are continually increasing. Graduates of the study program are qualified to work in organizations involved in environmental monitoring and assessment, waste management, and environmental impact assessment. They can find employment in both the public and private sectors — in state administration, local government bodies related to environmental protection, in industrial enterprises whose activities involve raw material processing, as well as in various environmental organizations.
